UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP SIGNS GRAMMY AWARD-NOMINATED CREATIVE TALENT MAGGIE ROGERS TO EXCLUSIVE, GLOBAL PUBLISHING AGREEMENT
Santa Monica, April 12, 2023 – Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), Universal Music Group’s leading, global publishing division, today announced that GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer/songwriter/performer Maggie Rogers has signed an exclusive, global publishing agreement.
Multihyphenate creative talent Rogers (Capitol Records) first garnered industry recognition in 2017 with her breakthrough EP Now That The Light Is Fading which reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. In 2019, she surged to global success with the release of her debut album Heard It In A Past Life. The spectacular record — which features hits “Light On,” “Alaska” and “Fallingwater” — earned Rogers a GRAMMY® Award nomination for Best New Artist. Heard It In A Past Life reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales and Top Alternative Albums, No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and earned praise from the likes of NPR, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, TIME Magazine, Vogue, and many more. To date, the album has amassed more than one billion global streams.
Rogers’ second studio album, Surrender (2022), was met with widespread critical acclaim. Co-produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning UMPG songwriter Kid Harpoon, the record peaked across Billboard: No. 1 on US Top Tastemaker Albums, No. 2 on US Top Alternative Albums and No. 3 on US Top Rock Albums. Surrender was included on several ‘Best Album of 2022’ year-end lists including NPR, Rolling Stone, Esquire, Billboard and more. Additional highlights from Rogers’ heartfelt discography include “Love You For A Long Time,” ranking as one of her biggest hits and earning hundreds of millions of streams across platforms. In 2020, the Maryland native released her meticulously curated Notes from the Archive: Recordings 2011-2016, a 16-track retrospective. In January 2023, Rogers featured on Zach Bryan’s track, “Dawns,” which became the biggest Spotify debut for both artists, respectively.

She has also performed on major TV shows including “Saturday Night Live,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “Austin City Limits,” “Today” and more. Rogers will set out on her “Summer of ’23 Tour” of North America on July 24th in Charlotte, NC.
