Just Bieber Debut Album My World To Be Released Later This Year
R&B superstar, Usher, introduced his protégé, Justin Bieber, to LA’s trendsetters yesterday at The Sunset Tower Hotel.
Usher described the musician as a “young phenomenon. He's definitely a priority for me and Island Def Jam.”
Justin is fourteen years old and is from Stratford, Ontario where he only started singing about three years ago! He was discovered by manager Scooter Braun, who also discovered hip-hop’s newest star Asher Roth, through Justin’s YouTube videos of himself singing in a 2007 local singing competition in which he took second place. But it was Usher who hooked Justin up with an audition which led to a contract offered by Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid.
Justin is currently putting together his debut album titled My World, due to be released sometime this year, and is working in conjunction with a number of producers and artists including the hip-hop production duo Midi Mafia and singer/songwriter The-Dream. Justin is already getting radio airplay, however, with his Chris “Tricky” Stewart produced single “One Time.”
